I have visited Kolkata for a number of times & i quite like the city. People here are nice and polite. One can visit victoria memorial, indian museum, magnolia in park street etc. The only thing that irritates is the heavy traffic jams. From here one can move to Digha and Darjeeling.   [more]

Without a tad doubt, India is immensely rich when it comes to unique travel destinations. The beauty of Laitkynsew is inexpressible. Travelers going to this place, especially during the night, cannot see anything other than mist. In fact, the travelers need to nose slowly through the murk if they reach this place in the dark. The story to the gorgeous place does not end here as the morning reveals that travelers poise on the knife-edge of a breathtakingly narrow ridge. Then there are waterlogged plains of Bangladesh, which can be witnessed from the top on the one hand with steep jungle gorges studded with waterfall on the other. It is indeed fascinating to witness gushing waters into the void thus making this place all the more significant and worthwhile for the traveler. Undoubtedly, as travelers tread on their journey on this land, they find themselves transfixed.   [more]

My husband and I spent our two-week honeymoon in India, and perhaps our biggest concern was how to get around from Delhi, to Agra, to Jaipur, to Pushkar, to Johdpur, and to Udaipur. Our trip to India was made much more convenient and pleasant by hiring a private driver, which really made our trip fantastic and made traveling through India much easier and enjoyable. We booked through this website and were taken care of by the owner himself, Ramesh Kumar, who has 15 years of experience in driving all over India. He was very professional and accommodating, speaks excellent English, and exceeded all expectations! http://www.letsgoindiatours.com/   [more]

I had been to Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul and Govardhan Prikarma last month & I was hurt to see the beahaviour of Pujaris and guides around Gokul (Nand’s Home), Govardhan Parikarma and Vrindavan. They have least respect to these places of highest importance for Hindus. All local guides are nothing but a ’Thug’ in disguise of a ’Brahmin’.They will take you to the temple of there choice. The priest will teach you the importance of the place and advise you to donate in name of God. He is having a rate card as well. He will try to squeeze your pocket in the name of religion. You can not offer your prayers at most of these place unless you pay different type of Poojas to these Pandas.

To save the dignity of these places and Lord krishna, either Government or any NGO of repute should take complete charge of these places.   [more]

I've been on a number of Calcutta Walks walking tours and recommend them to all of my visitors. Ifte and Manjit are the main "explorers" and they are locals who have researched and put together their own walks. The walks were three to four hours. It was not at all boring, infact it was fun there. I thought 1250 rs per person was quite pricey, certainly by local standards, but then again it's a personalised experience in a fabulous city.

I liked the experience and i would like to suggest it to all the tourists visiting Kolkata.   [more]

The Teppam or float festival in the large temple tank, and the biweekly Pradosham festival also draw huge crowds. It is also called by locals as karpagambal temple.
